Frequently asked questions What do you charge? Most projects are charged at an hourly rate. When aware of the requirements, we can gauge the time and resources needed and present a quote for your approval that fits your budget.
What causes budget and time blowouts? • Not remaining objective and changing direction after the project commences. • Our quotes include one round of author's corrections. If more are needed, they will be charged at an hourly rate. So it's best to collect all corrections together to be completed in the first round if possible. • A project can easily go over the scheduled deadline if materials we need are not provided in a timely manner.
What if I don't like it? If we have a comprehensive brief to follow, we rarely miss the mark. If we do, you're not charged for the extra work needed to get it right. We bill what's quoted unless specs change or extra author's corrections are needed.
Do you design websites? Yes. Chorus Design can design and build simple sites and team with expert collaborators when there are greater demands of the back end.
Do you pitch for free? No. We sell our time so if we give it away, we need to raise our prices to remain profitable. That's not fair for our other clients. Ad agencies often pitch for free but are generally pitching for millions of dollars worth of business and make a great deal more from marking up media placements. And they charge more than we do to remain profitable.
What's the difference between vector line art and pixel art? Vector line art is created in drawing programs like Adobe Illustrator and uses lines and co-ordinates to define shapes. Logos are best supplied like this as they are scalabe to any size without losing quality. They are generally saved as EPS files. If your logo is supplied as a Photoshop TIFF or JPEG file it will be made from pixels (or dots) and will only be able to be used at the size supplied or smaller.
